Picking up the phone and speaking to our friends and family has become more frequent since government restrictions, but did you know that there is a range of cancer services offering advice and support over the phone.

Recent doctor reports have said that there’s been a drop of more than 70% in cancer related referrals and appointments. With that in mind, we’ve highlighted some of the great services offering telephone helplines to help answer your needs and questions. Brain Tumour Support

The team at Brain Tumour Support is dedicated to providing support for anyone affected by a brain tumour – whether it be patients or the friends, family and carers by those impacted by a diagnosis.

Breast Cancer Now

For anyone living with breast cancer, you’ll find a plethora of support from this incredible organisation. From online support to mobile apps, they also have a team of breast cancer nurses available via their helpline.

Kidney Cancer UK

As the UK’s leading kidney cancer charity, they not only provide a daily careline ran by their health professionals team, but they offer telephone counselling service with a full qualified kidney cancer counsellor.

Leukaemia Care

After a blood cancer diagnosis, the nurse advisors at Leukaemia Care are available to answer your questions giving their expert advice at any stage of your cancer journey or the journey of your loved ones.

Orchid

This specialist organisation deals with fighting male cancers including penile, testicular and prostate cancers. They operate the national male cancer helpline that is ran by their team of specialist nurses.

Pancreatic Cancer UK

This charity offers expert and personalised support and information to anyone affected by pancreatic cancer from their team of nurses by both email and also their specialist telephone helpline.

Prostate Cancer UK

As the UK’s leading charity for prostate cancer, their team of specialist nurses operate a daily helpline to answer your concerns. You can call their helpline or text NURSE to 70004 to request a call back.

For 30 years, the Roy Castle Foundation has been supported people with lung cancer and their families. Their free Ask the Nurse helpline provides information, advice and support to anyone affected by lung cancer.
