A study by the Office for National Statistics found in 2019 that the long-term cancer survival rates across Birmingham and Solihull are better than ever. The statistics marks the highest 10-year survival rate across the area since modern records began, a testament to both the medical care and the cancer support services that can be found in Birmingham and surrounding boroughs.

The Birmingham Drop In Cancer Support Centre is part of the HHHO charity and aims to offer support outside of treatment. The service provide advice on housing, benefits, and financial advice as well as emotional and counselling advice and more. Services are still available since COVID-19, they are even offering shopping collection services for patients who live alone.
Based in Dudley, the White House offers practical and emotional support for those affected by a cancer diagnosis. From transport to medical appointments to 1 on 1 counselling, the team are there to guide and support patients and their families during a cancer journey. They have recently reopened and services are now offered by appointment only.
The Sutton Centre prouds itself on supporting people living with and recovering from the effects of cancer by offering complementary relaxation therapies counselling, weekly group activities such as yoga, tai chi , creative arts and more. Whilst the centre is currently closed their therapists are just a telephone call away, with services like aromatheraphy, reiki and homeopathy offered virtually.
With a centre based in Solihull, this national charity has counsellors, therapists and health professionals offering a range of activities, 1 on 1 counselling and support groups. Since the outbreak of coronavirus, classes and support groups are now being delivered online with additional support over the phone.
For anyone in the Birmingham area affected by a blood cancer diagnosis, the Birmingham Blood Cancer Support Group offer meetings thatare a great way for you to meet someone who is going through or has been through the same journey as you. At the moment, the group is currently meeting virtually and you just have to register online to take part from the safety of your own home.
This private cancer treatment centre offering cancer diagnostics, treatment and wellbeing services whilst working closely with leading health professionals and investing in the latest techniques. Since COVID-19, strict measures have been put in place to continue treatments and services to the highest safety standards.
