Harbour Cancer Support is an independent charity in Gosport that offers practical and emotional support to anyone affected by any cancer across Southeast Hampshire. They offer counselling for people living with cancer, complementary therapies, as well as a weekly Art Therapy service. Services are by appointment as well as virtually.
Headway Portsmouth & South East Hampshire
A local charity, located at the Mountbatten Centre providing information and support to people living with brain injuries and their families and friends. Services include monthly meetings, arts and crafts, social nights and activities. It runs fundraising events and signposts to other support services in the local area.
Support group for people who have, or have had, oesophageal cancer. It offers general advice, information, support and an opportunity for attendees to share their experiences with one another through a telephone call or through its buddy support program.
This organisation helps people with cancer who need care at home. They provide home care and support, including independent living support, preparing meals, cleaning, personal care, medication assistance, companionship, social interaction, and live in care for people across Portsmouth and the South East.
Macmillan Cancer Support Centre – Cosham
Located at Queen Alexandra Hospital this support centre, part of the world-famous Macmillan charity provides a supportive and friendly environment to relax or discuss your needs as well as information and practical advice on all aspects of living with cancer and treatments. The centre also offers complementary therapy benefits and welfare advice, workshops, wig referral scheme, counselling and courses.
The Portsmouth group are part of a foundation offering help around the UK. You can get useful information and practical advice about lung cancer, including meeting others who have been affected, experts in the field, bereavement support and advice, information days, and support to quit smoking. Located at The Drayton Centre, the group meets on the 1st Tuesday of every month.
