Support for Gynaecological Cancer in the UK | Gynaecological Cancer Awareness

Cancers that start in the female reproductive system are called gynaecological cancers and include Cervical, Ovarian, Womb, Vaginal and Vulval cancers. Each year in the UK, over 22,000 women are diagnosed with a gynaecological cancer.

September is Gynaecological Cancer Awareness Month, so we’re taking a look at the support services on offer in the UK.

Go Girls

Based in Dorset, this fantastic charity supports women with gynaecological cancer and campaigning to raise funds and awareness of all five gynaecological cancers. Their services include information about symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment of gynaecological cancer, online-peer-to-peer support and signposting to events and fundraising support.

Women’s Health Concern

This Buckinghamshire charity offers a confidential and independent service advising, reassuring and educating women of all ages about their gynaecological and sexual health, wellbeing and lifestyle concerns by email and online fact sheets. 

The Eve Appeal

This national charity raises awareness and funds research into the five gynaecological cancers. They have an “Ask Eve” information service to answer any questions you have about any gynaecological symptoms or concerns you are having. Their team help women, men and non-binary people who have any type of gynae related questions.

Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust

Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust provides information and support to women living with cervical cancer. The organisation offers a helpline, online forum, one-to-one support, support events and information about how to cope with the effects of treatment. People can also use their online “Ask the Expert” form and get a confidential response from a medical professional.
